Tony Hawk Pro Skater 5 and HD had physics problems because it’s on Unreal engine? Well THPS 1+2 (or Tony Hawk 2020) did fantastically on the same engine. Look up at the numerous various GTA SA mods on there that was able to do all of the things i have listed, ragdolls, skateboarding, normal maps and freerunning.
Meanwhile something like the Renderware engine, an engine that was from the late 1990’s and used for Tony Hawk and GTA on the Ps2, is capable of doing all of that, even up to 2018 with Burnout paradise remastered. “That needed a brand spanking new engine for that.” I always hear this same point said for whenever a suggestion something to this effect is bought up.
Why does everyone assume you need to change an engine to do X/Y, Engines don’t dictate this, If they can implement raytracing they can implement ragdoll physics,
